Our Trip to Wisconsin

This past weekend Luke and I headed to Wisconsin for a short vacation.  His mom and step-dad rented a cabin on the lake for the week and invited us to stay with them.  Luke's sister, Anna, and her boyfriend, Dave, came for a couple days too and so did his Aunt Mia and his cousins.

The weekend started out with us going for a ride on the boat.  Unfortunately we were all so excited to get on the lake that no one checked to make sure the boat had enough gas.  We also didn’t bother to bring our phones or money.  Needless to say, we ended up getting stranded on the lake.  Good thing we had a couple strong young men to help pull the boat to shore so we could ask for help.  The next day when we had plenty of gas we all went back out on the boat and went tubing.  We had a good time!

The last day we were in Wisconsin we went to Dave’s Falls.  We got to go hiking and check out the very small but pretty waterfalls.  We got a few really good pictures from that too.  Overall it was a good weekend, so thanks to Jeanne and John for a great weekend!

Trip to Pleasant Plains

Luke and I headed home to Pleasant Plains last weekend.  Brooke and her family were there to let the rest of our family meet their newest little baby boy, Kade Isaac.  Shannon, Matt, and Ruby were also home.  It is always nice and relaxing to go home, that is if you can deal with four kids under the age of four and five dogs running around.  The house is like a zoo but it is fun all the same.  Shannon took pictures of Brooke's family and of me and Luke when we were home and I can't wait to see them.  From what I've see, they look awesome.  I'll post some when she is finished with them.

August 7th was also one year from when my Grandad passed away.  I can't believe it has been a year already when it feels like just yesterday that we were all home saying goodbye.  Check out the picture of the metal corn stalk we put at Grandad's grave.  I think he would love it!

Ruby is getting soooo big especially compared to Kade!

Luke's Trip to Gatlinburg

After the Bar Exam, Luke and his dad went on a road trip to Gatlinburg, TN.  They stayed in a cabin in the Great Smokey Mountains.  They went hiking, zip-lining, and white water rafting.  It sounds like they had a blast.  Here are a few pictures from their trip.

My First Adventure As A Blogger

Hey everyone and welcome to my blog.  I have been refusing to blog for about 2 years.  My sisters and some other family members have blogs and have been trying to convince me to start one for awhile.  They both have kids and have interesting things to post.  I have always said I would start one once I had a baby and had something interesting to write about.  Although I still do not have any children yet, I finally have seen the light.  See, I also was recently convinced to join something called "facebook" which I am sure you all know about (ha ha).  I had also refused for a long time to join facebook but decided to when I moved from Nashville back to Chicago and wanted to keep in touch with some friends from Tennessee and Luke's law school class.  As those of you who know me are aware, I like to talk...a lot:)  But even I don't have enough time to call everyone from my prior life nor do I always want to.  After I joined facebook and became friends with many people I don't even remember that well I realized how fun it is to stalk everyone and read up on what is going on in their lives.  I love to look at their pictures even when I don't know everyone in them.  That's when it hit me.  Even if I don't think I am interesting, other people may just want to read what I have to say.  So keep logging on and read my blog and see where it goes and hopefully I can entertain you or at least help you waist time when you don't want to do what you should be doing.
