The last few weeks

August has been pretty busy so far.  Seems like every weekend has been taken up.  A few weeks ago we went to our friends Alison and Ryan's parents farm near Rockford.  We had a great time getting away from home for a few days.  Luke had quite the weekend.  He managed to fall off a horse and almost get thrown off of a 4-wheeler too.  Guess he really is a city boy.  But he was all right and had a lot of fun anyway.

We also spent a weekend getting the nursery ready.  I don't have pictures yet but do have one of our new guest room we created in the basement.  Since we only have 2 bedrooms, we needed to clear out the room so our nursery furniture could go in the other bedroom.  We have a huge basement, but unfortunately it is unfinished.  So with help from John and Jeanne, we transformed one corner of the basement to a new guest room.  Turned out pretty good!

Last Monday I went to see my friends Jamie and Steve in Bloomington to meet there new little guy Parker.  He was born on August 1st.

This last weekend our friends Shannon and Wes came to Chicago for a visit.  We spent one day at the planetarium museum and one day at the Air and Water show.

4th of July Weekend

Busy weekend over the 4th.  My parents came up over the weekend to celebrate my birthday a little early.  Bradley also had a birthday on the 3rd so we had to celebrate that as well. I can't believe he is 4 already. 

We also got to see fireworks on the 3rd.  We went to Pleasantdale park.  They were really good this year.  On the fourth we went to Ty Warner Park to celebrate with some friends.

Galena Trip

A couple weekends ago Luke and I went to Galena for the weekend.  I would have liked to go on a longer vacation, but Luke's work schedule doesn't really allow for that right now.  Even still, getting away for a few days was nice.  Especially since it will probably be the last time we can get away before the baby comes.  We didn't do a lot but shopped and ate and ate some more.  Galena is a cute little town and was a lot of fun.

It's a Girl!

Most of you know already, but we are having a baby girl.  We are so excited and just happy that everything is going well.  She is healthy and growing like she should.  Can't believe only 15 weeks left to go.  Here is an updated picture of me at 25 weeks.

The last few months...

Other than growing a baby inside my belly, our lives have been pretty uneventful the last few months.  My cousin Lesley's baby shower was a couple weeks ago and last weekend we went to Johnson City Tennessee for Luke's best friend Nick's wedding.  It has been good to get out of Chicago and spend some time with friends and family!  Mother's day was also nice.  We spent it with Luke's mom, John and sister Anna.  It was a beautiful day and we spent most of it outside after having a nice brunch at our house that morning.  Here are several pictures from the last few months.
